Splitting Large File Into Smaller Multiple Files Using WinZip and WinRAR

In this article, I’ll show you how to split large file into smaller multiple file using two most common file archiver, namely WinZip and WinRAR.

As an example, I’ll use the 33.4 Mb Abode Reader installer.

Note: You can always split any file except the compressed file e.g. .rar or .zip.

Using WinRAR

Then right click choose Add to archive…

Then, a pop-up window will display, click the drop down menu below the Split to volumes, bytes and choose one of the options or you can specify the volume you want.

Then, click OK button, wait for a seconds while the program is splitting the data.

That's it.

Using WinZip

Right click choose on WinZip > Add to zip file…

Then, a pop-up window will display, click the drop down menu below the Split Zip file and choose one of the options or you can specify the volume you want.

Then, click Add button, wait for a seconds while the program is splitting the data.

That's it.
